A warm welcome to the World Changers Cohort (WCC) including those in the Ministry Leader Pathway (MLP)! You are joining an amazing movement of students from North America and around the world to partner with God at Urbana 22. We value your “yes” to shepherding others and are thrilled to help prepare you for what God is going to do among us.
Consider this your “WCC home” where you can find all the resources you’ll need as we journey towards Indianapolis. Check back here for important announcements and in the meantime, don’t hesitate to email us with any questions!

Small Group Details
Hey WCC! Just a short update....you will be receiving 2 emails on Thursday, December 8. One will contain the full list of everyone in your SG, the other will contain the discord link to your SG channel.
Our timeline had to shift a little and as a result, there's not as much time as we had hoped for you to meet all together as a coaching team...your coach will email you right after the 8th. If you have any questions, instead of having a meeting as a whole team, they'll be available to answer any questions.

What is the purpose of the World Changers Cohort (WCC)?
The WCC is an experience designed to accelerate and deepen your holistic leadership. You will have access to the best teachers, trainers, and preachers that Urbana/InterVarsity have to offer as you gain experience leading your peers in three Acts Bible studies, prayer, and giving one call to faith. At the end of Urbana you will receive a Cohort Certificate of Completion.
How are you going to help me as the leader?
You can identify two students you want to be part of your SG (you won’t be alone, plus this is a great opportunity to develop fellow students).
- Ministry Playbook prep-sessions (prior to Urbana)
- Coaching from someone in your region
- Three Acts Bible study guides and call to faith scripts provided mid-October
- Debriefing, teaching, training from WCC sessions onsite
What are the pre-Urbana expectations of the WCC?
- Take the Urbana World Changers Cohort Training (~90 mins., broken up into four mini prep-sessions)
- Two check-ins with staff coach (beginning in the fall)
- (Ideally) Practice leading three Acts studies and giving a call to faith
What is the onsite schedule of students in the WCC?
Exactly like other Urbana 22 participants with the additions of:
- Optional morning prayer meetings
- Attend onsite orientation (12/28 @ 9:45-10:30pm, immediately after general session)
- Attend WCC sessions (three total from 4:45-6:00pm)
How is my small group being formed at Urbana?
Urbana small groups will be pre-assigned regional groups of nine students. The basis for each small group is a triad of three students from the same chapter (where possible). Each triad is then paired with two other triads. As a student leader, you have the ability to request two individuals (by Oct. 15) whom you’d like to guarantee to be in your small group.
Are there ways to connect with my small group before Urbana?
Yes! Regional Discord servers will be available late summer, where you can connect with people going to Urbana from your geographic region.
Can I help out with Discord?
Yes! We are looking for student moderators for all of the regional servers. Please email us at worldchangers@intervarsity.org if you’re interested in serving in this way!
Can I co-lead Bible study?
Yes, you can co-lead the Bible study, but that co-leader will not have a spot in the World Changers Cohort (sorry!). If a co-leader or apprentice is desired, they would be an excellent person for you to request as one of your +2.
What if I want to lead an ethnic-specific/affinity group Bible study or study in a different language?
We have options for this! There will be designated Bible studies for students who have pre-selected ethnic-specific Bible studies (at registration). We are looking for leaders (who identify with these affinity groups) to lead the following contextualized studies: (We’ll ask for an official count of who wants to lead closer to Urbana)
- African American
- Asian American
- International Students
- Graduate Students and Faculty
- Latino/a or Hispanic
- Mixed
- Native (First Nations Version)
- Bible study in French
- Bible study in Mandarin
- Bible study in Spanish
What is the Ministry Leader Pathway?
If you have been invited by your staff to the Ministry Leader Pathway, you have already registered to be part of the WCC and will enjoy all the perks and ministry opportunities. You have already been a leader for over a year on your campus and are open to a future ministry vocation in the broader Kingdom, possibly as either an InterVarsity campus staff or volunteer.
We look forward to seeing you at the MLP Discernment Seminar (12/29 @3:15-4:15pm) and IV Staff Recruitment Luncheon (12/31 @12:30-1:30pm) and location will be in the handbook. If you have questions or are interested in MLP please contact your staff.
