2 Minute Faith Interest Survey
Are you looking for more ways to connect with the campus? Are you looking for those initial students that can help you reach the campus?
This survey is designed to engage new students, staff, and other potential partners on campus. It will guide you as you identify people who may be curious, spiritually seeking, or open to connecting with your campus ministry plant.
Preparing for the 2 Minute Faith Interest Survey
- How to Do the Survey
- Introduce yourself briefly: "Hi, I'm [Name], we're doing a short faith survey for a student group called InterVarsity."
- Explain the purpose: "It's just a few questions to learn what students think about faith and spirituality."
- Offer choice: "Would you like to participate? It only takes 1-2 minutes." (Honor that promise of 2 minutes)
- Best Practices
- Smile and be approachable: Friendly, not pushy.
- Keep it short: Don't over-explain. Try to keep it to 2 minutes.
- Respect Time: If they're busy, say, "No problem, have a great day!"
- Be prepared: Practice with a partner, have the survey on a clip board, extra pens, and IV fliers to your next event.
- Options: Show them the questions while you fill it out. If they have questions and want to talk more, let them know you would be happy to answer them after the survey.
- How to Be Respectful (and Not Weird)
- Don't block paths or hover: Stand in a natural spot.
- Avoid judgmental language: Never assume their beliefs.
- Listen well: If they ask questions, answer briefly and kindly.
- Thank them: Whether they say yes or no.
