Bring Your Friends to Jesus' Feet Discipleship Cycle

Read Mark 2: 2-5
The man’s friends knew that Jesus could heal bodies, and they went to extremes to
bring their friend to Jesus. The rest of the chapter shows how Jesus healed the
man’s body to prove that he is Lord.
- How did the man’s friends know that Jesus could heal bodies?
- Why did Jesus forgive the man’s sins first? Why did he also heal his body?
- What do you believe about bodily healing? What do your friends believe?

Go and do
The beauty of the Christian gospel is that Jesus wants to heal all of us —mind, body,
and soul. Timing looks different for different people, but when we share, we call our
friends to sit at the feet of the one who will heal all of creation.
- The main reason that we share the gospel with others is because Jesus has
asked us to (Matt. 28:18 -20). But he doesn’t just say “because I said so.” - One reason: God always planned for the nations (Gen. 12:1 -2, Rev. 7:9 -10).
- Other reasons: God wants us to be part of it all (Rom. 10:13 -15), God’s done
great things (1 Chron. 16:14,Isa. 25:1), and many more!
Everyone should share the gospel, but that looks different for everyone. This
discipleship guide focuses on sharing with friends, family, and others that you know. This is Jesus’ call to start at home, and then go out (Rom. 1:8).
Suggestions:
- Pray for who God wants you to share your faith with. Ask him how to do it, to
meet them where they are, to speak for God and not yourself. - Find good resources and other believers to help you share your faith with
others. - Ask a friend if you can share your faith story, no pressure. Follow God’s
leading.

Reflect on what you learned
- Where am I already a good witness to the amazing things that God has
done? - How does witnessing make me feel? Excited, anxious, confused, hopeful?
All of the above? What else? - What things make me believe that God can bring healing to my friends
